Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 8. We have been chartered by the Vine Congregational Church since 1950. Larry Holmes has been our scoutmaster for 14 years and is a former Eagle Scout; he has earned the Silver Beaver Award (scouting’s highest award). He has served as the Cornhusker Council's District Chair and is now the VP of their Endowment Society. Troop 8 is a scout-run troop. At our weekly meetings, there is a flag ceremony, announcements, merit badge classes or other programs, and finally a closing. We also have a camp or outdoor activity monthly. Also, the new scouts are placed in a program that teaches the basics of scouting. We have the leadership, funding, and parental involvement to make a troop run. In conclusion, Troop 8 has over 100 Eagle scouts in its heritage and at the present time we have 50+registered scouts. You may fill out the Contact Us form for more info.
